One of the side effects of being so chronically and debilitatingly indecisive is that I’m horrible with rankings.
I spent over a week writing this post because I kept rearranging the list, taking some books out, adding new ones in, and just overthinking the fact that I was overthinking. I reordered the top three countless times, because how can I possibly choose just one masterpiece to award the ever-coveted title of Best Book of the Year?
It’s Winter Break for me right now, which means I finally have time to read! (and to post on a Wednesday!) This post is on the shorter side, but I just felt like talking about some of the books I have been reading recently. (And, no, I’m not addicted to buying books; the last time I did one of these was almost three months ago!)
It’s hard to believe 2020 is almost over, but I am certainly not complaining. Although it was a little lacking in other departments, 2020 was an amazing reading year for me. I started my blog in March, which reignited my almost-dormant passion for reading, and as the year went on my book addiction was completely rekindled. As of now- December 26th- I have read 125 books. That’s the highest number of books I’ve read in a year since I began keeping track on Goodreads in 2017.
I’ve been obsessed with YA mystery/thrillers for a while… there’s something about the easy-to-read yet suspenseful writing style, plentiful plot twists, and shock endings. They’re just so readable, and I can’t just enough!
What a crazy few months! I absolutely cannot believe it’s already November. I haven’t been able to blog that much recently, but today I decided it’s finally time I posted a monthly (or in this case, bi-monthly) wrap-up.
Today is a special day. First because it’s Halloween (free excuse to eat as much candy as I want) and second, and more relevantly, because I’m going to do be doing a double tag post.
Confession time: I’m addicted to spending all my money on books and coffee.

It means that the BEST season has finally arrived, with the months of September, October, November, and December (aka the best months of the year). I am so excited!
Another book tag! This time featuring Taylor Swift’s most unexpected, artsy, and unapologetically ~a e s t h e t i c~ album, complete with (grammatically incorrectttt) lowercase titles and a subdued color scheme.
I am ashamed of myself.
First because I failed to read this book sooner, and second because I’ve been complaining about quarantine nonstop without truly realizing that my life is NOT that bad.

I was recently thinking about how I want to expand the kinds of books I read, and that gave me this idea.

I’ve been planning- or rather, procrastinating- getting back into creative writing for a while. I used to be really into it; I wanted to be a writer since I was five and wrote my first “book”, but when I started high school I kind of fell out of inspiration (if that phrasing makes any sense).
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how CREATIVE the entire concept of this book is? I really should read more sci-fi.
