My name is Emily and I write a lot of book reviews– much more sporadically nowadays, but I’m working on it.

Miscellany about me:

I like to read literary fiction, speculative fiction, and horror with a psychological dimension, and that’s generally what I write as well. I also read a lot of nonfiction on leftist politics and activism, history, popular science of all stripes, and environmentalism.

I have been vegan since 2022 and I am an animal rights activist

I started uni as a computer science major, then didn’t like that, so I switched to biology, which wasn’t entirely for me either, so now I am stumbling around post-grad trying to find something that I want to do besides write

When I was a kid, I said that when I grew up I wanted to be “a philosopher” but all I have become is bad at parties

I am currently drafting a (few) novels of my own. We will see if they ever get finished. Step 1 is working up the nerve to actually submit my short stories to publications.

I love music; unfortunately, the best music in the world is also called incel music. My favorite band is Radiohead
