It’s been a while since I did a book tag on here, so here we go!
I’m pretty bad at keeping up with tags and stuff that people nominate me for, but they’re always fun to do, they’re a nice vehicle for discussion and they’re great for just taking a break from more analytical posts.
Thank you to Lattes & Literature for tagging me for the “Last Ten Books” Tag!
The Last Ten Books Tag- Esmeralda’s Questions
The Last Book I Bought:

The last book I bought was Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn, which I’d been wanting to read for a while and couldn’t find it anywhere. I usually don’t buy books unless they’re hard to find or have just released.
I really loved this book and will be (hopefully) posting my review soon!
Last Book I Re-Read:

Um… um… um….
I don’t re-read books all that often anymore. Technically, the last book I re-read was, I think, The Hunger Games which I re-read last October, actually.
Last Book I Said I Read But Didn’t:
Do I look like a poser to you?
Last Book I Wrote in the Margins of:

Well, I wrote on sticky notes, not the margins, but I annotated Heart of Darkness for school. Unfortunately, it was not my cup of brooding, glooming tea.
Update 1/24/22: so, three months later now that I’m finishing this post I started writing in October, I have in fact written in the margins of Ella Minnow Pea in the past week because that’s what I do when I own a book.
Last Book that I got Signed:

I don’t have any signed books, unless you count the ones adorned by the signature of my third grade teacher, and maybe that’s a sad reflection on my life.
But in any case, thank you Mrs. [redacted] for giving me a copy of Because of Winn Dixie, which I still have in my bookcase.
Last Book I Gave Up On:

I…. uh…. *searches my brain for the last DNF*
I couldn’t get past the first chapter of Pride & Premeditation despite its appearance on my anticipated new releases list, so that was sad.
I couldn’t stand the writing style, the obnoxious and anachronistic “feminism” or the complete deviation from Jane Austen’s original. Pride & Prejudice isn’t Victorian London….
Last Book I Lost:
I honestly don’t know. I truly am not sure which of my books are missing or found or anything because I usually read on my Kindle and don’t take my actual physical books out of the house very often.
My Kindle goes missing on a daily basis though.
Last Book I Had to Replace:

I don’t really “replace” books because owning books isn’t all that important to me, necessarily, but the books I kind of need to replace are my Harry Potter books, whose shameful condition would probably cause me to be burned at the stake by the book community lest they see how many of the covers have fallen off over the years of me reading those books ten times.
Last Book I Argued Over:

Uh, I sort of recently argued with my friend over whether 1984 is good or bad (correct answer: it’s brilliant)
I tend not to get into too many arguments over books– they’re usually more like one-sided rants or raves.
Last Book That I Couldn’t Find:
A couple weeks I went to the library and when I went to check out my books at the self checkout thing, it kindly told me that I had $20 of unpaid late fees and could not check out anything until I brought back a book I checked out months before and forgot to return.
Fortunately it was just sitting in my room on my bedside table and all was well in the universe.
So those are all the questions in the Last Ten Books Tag… I’m not going to tag anyone for this tag today, but feel free to do it if you so choose, or, if you want to, put your answers in the comments!

Your Harry Potter books’ condition is definitely relatable, so don’t worry, you’re in no danger of being burned at the stake!

I loved reading these answers Emily! Oh my goodness I’m so glad to find someone else who found Pride & Premeditation unbearable. I had such high hopes but I had to force myself to finish that book. The anachronistic feminism, historical inaccuracy, and Lizzy herself drove me completely INSANE.
Your take on 1984 is the correct one, as far as I’m concerned 😌

Yes, it was really too bad about Pride & Premeditation… it was like the author was trying to be hip and feminist without bothering to pay attention to the context and setting of the story whatsoever
And I’m glad you agree with me on 1984!

I don’t think I will be able to answer some of these question. I will give this tag a try.
