Hello everyone and welcome or welcome back to yet another blogging award! Thank you to Jayati @ It’s Just a Coffee-Addicted Bibliophile for nominating me for the Liebster Award!

The Questions:

1) If you could go back to when you first started blogging, what would you do differently?

Hmmm…. if I could go back to when I first started blogging, I’d probably try to explore more blogs and begin interacting with the community sooner. For the first few months after I started my blog, I had my comments turned off and did very little blog-hopping– I didn’t realize that was the best part of blogging!

2) What book do you think would make a great movie/tv show?

Fresh in my mind because I just read it last month: Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir would make a good movie.

3) Is 3 stars a good or bad rating?

Wow, already coming out with the controversial questions! For me, 3-stars is “eh”; the book wasn’t bad but I’m also not falling over myself to recommend it to everyone. Maybe it wasn’t my taste, maybe it was boring, maybe it was just middling. Either way, 3-stars is not particularly good or bad for me.

4) What’s your favourite trope?

I’m not sure this is necessarily a TROPE but my favorite “trope” would have to be… when the ending of the book comes full-circle with the beginning. There are so many books that do this but the thing is I can’t exactly list examples without being spoilery.

5) What’s a place you really want to visit?

This is the WORLD’S MOST BASIC answer, but Paris

6) If you had to describe yourself in three characters, which ones would they be?

It’s excruciatingly awkward for me to describe myself but I’m probably a mix of…. Hermione Granger, Reynie Muldoon from The Mysterious Benedict Society and uh, uh, Aza Holmes from Turtles All the way Down.

7) What was the last book you read that made you cry?

The last book that made me cry… I’m sure there’s one but I can’t remember at this exact moment….

8) If you could read any book for the first time again, what would it be?

The Murder of Roger Ackryod by Agatha Christie!

9) Which elemental power would you want (air, water, earth or fire)?

Hmmmmmmmm……

I’m not quite sure how to answer this one. I guess water? Or no, maybe fire best captures me. It’s a mystery, I guess.

10) What is your current favourite and least favourite tv show? 

I don’t watch TV (#quirky)

In all seriousness, I don’t actually watch enough TV to answer this fully. I was really obsessed with Downton Abbey last year but other than that I haven’t been really into a TV show (besides watching the Mysterious Benedict Society adaptation last month)

As for least favorite TV show… I can’t stand reality TV unless you count all those Food Network shows.

11 Facts About Me:

*frantically searches my brain for facts I haven’t shared yet*

  1. I used to be allergic to dairy, eggs AND peanuts (it was terrible) but now I’m allergic to nothing
  2. I’m running a computer programming competition league for my county’s high schools this year
  3. I take piano lessons
  4. and my favorite classical composer is Chopin
  5. Like seemingly everyone else on the blogosphere, I like listening to Taylor Swift and folklore is my favorite album of hers, for sure
  6. I was seriously obsessed with horses for a long time but no, I was never allowed to get riding lessons
  7. I am graduating from high school in eight months *existential crisis intensifies*
  8. My birthday is in November, but my favorite month is either October (fall, amazing weather!) or December (Christmas and the best vibes!)
  9. My dog’s name is Finn
  10. As a kid I was extremely obsessed with Little Einsteins and My Little Pony and I could write a thesis on how they have shaped the rest of my life
  11. I can’t think of many more facts so this is the last one

  2. Oh my goodness! I LOVE Downton Abbey – soooo sad that its over! But I HAVE discovered another show I love ALMOST as much (I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of All Creatures Great and Small, but I discovered it last year and ADORED it!) I love reading your answers to tags! Congrats on the nomination!!

    1. Ooh I haven’t actually seen that one!
      Yeah my mom got my sister and I completely hooked on Downton; we watched it almost every day from December-March but I never actually finished the last season because it started getting repetitive after a point but it was such a good show. My favorite character has to be Mary, Tom, or Thomas (I like the complicated ones lol)

      1. I understand that – to be honest, the last season wasn’t exactly my favorite so, in my opinion, you aren’t missing much 😀 I love all of your favorite characters – mine are those three plus Sybil – oh gosh, I just loved the drama 😂❤

      2. Oh yeah, I liked Sybil but she didn’t make my favorites list because she was just the classic “sweet little sister” character– although her getting involved w/ politics and Tom was interesting. I lived for the Mary vs. Edith saga in seasons 1 and 2

I get that – there wasn’t a whole lot of character development on her end – I think if she had stayed on, there might have been more development, but she wasn’t a main character, so I could deal. Oh yes, the Mary v. Edith saga… unpopular opinion, but I really didn’t like Edith all that much… so I was always kind of rooting for Mary (especially with the whole Mr. Pamuk thing) – and the drama the disagreements brought XD… I mean, I don’t hate her, she’s a pretty good character, I just prefer Mary 😄

Exactly – like, I don’t hate her (okay, maybe a little) but mostly I just hate how everyone pitied her for things that she (Edith) started, whereas, while Mary was mean, everyone seemed to multiply just how mean she was (I mean, it’s not like she was flat-out cruel, I just would never cross Lady Mary 😆)

      Oh yeah, I remember seeing that we are almost exactly the same age; good luck with your last year of school too! I am so scared to graduate because the pandemic seemed to pause time and now we’re suddenly ready to graduate

    If only it were possible to read The Murder of Roger Ackroyd for the first time again…I think I was about your age when I first read it, somewhere in the last 2 years of high school. I’ve spent over 15 years hoping to forget the ending so I could re-read it, but, nope, hasn’t happened yet. I love it when books come full circle! They’re so satisfying and make me so happy. If only more books could be like that.

      1. It’s such a well-known book that I think most readers, especially those who have read her novels before, are able to predict the end, but how it was done was really brilliant and is worth a read all on it’s own.

  5. When it comes to books, I am more of a fantasy and classic fan- also love mythology. Actually, in the past loved Agatha Christie- in particular, And Then There Was None and Murder on the Orient Express. Don’t think I can choose my favorite book

    Well, music tastes are different—-as in musical theatre and contemporary christian

  6. YEEESSSS to the Project Hail Mary movie! 🤗 Though, actually, I think they’re already filming – it’s supposed to be starring Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace (**I see what you did there with those matching initials, casting people** 😂). Anyway, I’m super excited!
    And I’ll go ahead and agree with you and everyone in the comments that it’d be cool to read Roger Ackroyd with fresh eyes! Last time, I guessed the twist, but that was largely due to me reading a novel with a very similar one shortly before I picked it up – so I’d love to see what it’s like to have my mind truly blown 😂

    1. I know I am SO excited that is is actually becoming a movie! Already planning to watch it with my IRL friends who are also obsessed with Andy Weir books
      And yes Roger Ackroyd was just brilliant– I’m so glad I managed to stay mostly in the dark about the ending before reading it
